Born and raised in Minnesota, Jessica Allured (nee Jessica Poepping) earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree (choral and instrumental) from Webster University in St. Louis, MO. She went on to earn her Master of Arts in Education in School Improvement from Olivet University (IL).
Jess has enjoyed studying, teaching and playing the piano and flute for over 20 years. She taught music and choir in the public school system for 7 years, before transitioning to Assistant Music Director at St. Thomas the Apostle in Naperville, IL. After 2 years, she continued in Music Ministry there as a parishioner and focused on building her studio and professional music career. Her studio in Naperville grew to 30 students of all ages and abilities. She has moved to Minneapolis, MN to continue her work in private lesson music education and professional music.
In addition to accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists for auditions and competitions, she has also played for numerous funerals and weddings. She had the pleasure of playing flute at Carnegie Hall with John Angotti in January of 2011. Jess enjoys playing and teaching all types of music, from classical to pop, sacred to jazz.
Jess is a member of the Music Teachers National Association(MTNA), and the Minnesota Music Teachers association(MMTA).
