Owner, Music Teacher, Professional Musician

Created a custom curriculum for all students based on individual needs which addressed various learning styles and methods.

Taught private lessons to 30 students from ages 4 to 74 in voice, flute, piano, and music theory.

Offered individual suggestions to students for improvement based on student learning style and level.

Organized and held live recitals twice a year for student performance experience.

Handled all of the financial and marketing aspects of business.

Designed and created studio website using Squarespace.

 

2008 – 2012    St. Thomas the Apostle Church    Naperville, IL

Assistant Director of Music and Liturgy

Planned music for all Liturgies to support the theme, readings, and/or religious holidays.

Organized, coordinated, and hosted at least two music fundraisers each year which raised over $1000 each time.

Assisted the Director in Liturgy tasks, helped to make decisions on Art and Environment, participated in monthly Liturgy Committee meetings and weekly Liturgy Team meetings, met with parishioners and planned funerals, weddings, and other special services.

Created menus, uploaded files to the main website, created funeral programs, arranged music, and distributed practice CD’s using Microsoft Excel, FileZilla, Microsoft Publisher, Finale, and iTunes.

Shared director responsibilities for the Adult Choir and various small groups, ran rehearsals, prepared groups for performances during weekly rehearsals, and planned music based on group’s musical level.

Played flute for, and substituted for Michael Ward at St. Norberts Catholic Church
